About Bay Path University

Bay Path University is a private university that was established in 1897. It was originally called the Bay Path Institute. It was a coeducational school named for the nearby Bay Path. It moved to Longmeadow, Massachusetts in the 1950s. It became a secretarial school and admitted only women. Now known as Bay Path University, it accepts men into its graduate programs but only accepts women into its undergraduate programs. It also established a program for females to help them earn their degrees faster. It requires them to take Saturday classes. The Bay Path campus is home to an annual conference that allows students to learn from female leaders in different fields. Bay Path now has an enrollment of more than 3,200 students.

Bay Path University Accreditation Details

Students from Massachusetts and other states can get financial aid from Bay Path because the university has the required regional accreditation. This comes from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and its Commission on Institutions of Higher Learning (CIHL). Bay Path University Application Requirements

The Admissions and Financial Aid Teams  can help students apply and get financial aid. Students can contact either team online and then speak with a representative over the phone. They can also use the web to schedule a campus tour. Students can apply online. They can submit their test scores and transcripts after completing the Bay Path application. Graduate students applying to Bay Path usually need to apply around the middle of January, though some programs will accept applications through the spring and into the summer. Students need to write a 300 to 500-word essay and upload it to the application. The university requires two letters of recommendation on forms that students can download. Most programs ask for a copy of the student’s resume, as well. Bay Path allows students to submit a GRE score or the results of a similar exam also.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Bay Path offers a flat tuition rate for undergrads. These students pay only $400 per credit hour. If they qualify for the university’s military discount they pay a reduced rate of $350 per credit hour. The tuition rate includes their fees, too. To get financial aid, incoming undergrads only need to complete three steps, which include filing the FAFSA. This helps them qualify for:
  • scholarships
  • grants
  • loans
  • work-study
Graduate students attending Bay Path pay a rate that starts at $535 per credit hour in the university’s education programs. The occupational therapy program charges the highest rate of $985 per credit hour. Other programs charge between $710 and $855 per credit hour. The university has a form that students can fill out if they receive tuition reimbursement from their employers. This makes it easier for them to attend college and pay their costs later. They can also use the FAFSA to get some of the loans that the federal government offers. This includes PLUS and unsubsidized loan programs. Bay Path University allows students to submit the FAFSA as part of the process of applying to any of its degree programs.
