At Everglades University, students can choose from a wide variety of bachelor’s and master’s degrees.  EU has several physical campuses to make learning more convenient, and all degree programs can be taken online, in person or in a combination of the two formats. The purpose of education at EU is to prepare students for real-world careers in fields throughout the economy. EU offers adult learners a way to complete an accredited degree program while working and attending to family life. The degrees available at EU are fully accredited and equivalent to the bachelor’s and master’s degrees available at the top universities in the country. A bachelor’s degree at EU typically takes four years of full-time enrollment to complete. A master’s degree can often be completed in two years or less. Depending on how much time a student puts into learning, he or she can complete a degree program in less time than average at EU. About Everglades University

Everglades University is a relatively new university. It was founded in 1990 as American Flyers College, a professional aviation training school in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The name was changed to Everglades University in 2003. It was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) to award bachelor of science degrees in:

  • alternative medicine
  • aviation
Since its initial accreditation in 1990, EU has added five new campuses to its facilities. It expanded its educational mission to include a robust online learning program with all of the degree options offered on campus. In 2010, EU was accredited to begin offering master of science degrees in:

  • aviation
EU was one of the first colleges to offer an accredited bachelor’s degree program in alternative medicine.

Everglades University Accreditation Details

Everglades University is regionally accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). It’s accredited to grant associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees to both online and residential students.  The SACS performs a systematic audit of the facilities of EU to assess the tools, technology, and resources available to undergraduate and graduate students. The online degree programs at EU are also evaluated by the SACS to ensure that they meet the high standards of regional university accreditation.

Everglades University Application Requirements

The mission of Everglades University is to educate adult learners who are seeking career advancement and job placement in vocational occupations. Admission to EU is open to everyone. Application reviews are conducted to determine that every student admitted to EU has the motivation to succeed. The application process includes a non-refundable $50 fee. Applicants should include as many supporting documents with their applications as possible, such as:
  • a high school or college transcript
  • GPA scores
  • SAT or ACT scores
Applicants who don’t include test scores with their applications will have to take a standardized test before they can enroll in classes. While there is no deadline for enrollment, applications are considered on a first-come-first-served basis.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition costs for undergraduate students at Everglades University are about $18,920 per year. Costs for graduate students are about $22,400 per year. Lab fees, book costs, and expenses for food, room and board can increase the cost of an education at EU. Financial aid can cover up to the full cost of enrollment and living expenses for all students. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) website offers financial assistance for college students based on financial need. Students can apply for Pell Grants and federal student loans through the FAFSA website. The office of financial services at EU offers additional applications for:
