One of the benefits of concurrent enrollment programs is that students can begin their college classes while still in high school and graduate early from college. About Ottawa University

Ottawa University was established in 1865. It’s a private school affiliated with the Baptist denomination of Christianity. The school’s motto is “The Truth Will Set You Free.” The institution has around 700 students on its campus in Ottawa, Kansas. The university also has a small student population on its residential campus in Surprise, Arizona.It also has around 4,000 students attending classes online and at the school’s satellite campuses. The university’s official colors are black and gold. aThe school’s sports teams play as the Braves in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. The school actively recruits prospective students who are members of the Baptist Church in the United States. It has a Department of Church Relations for this purpose. Ottawa University Accreditation Details

Ottawa University has earned regional accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission. This is an organization  founded in 1895 as an institutional accrediting body for United States colleges. Regional accreditation helps the federal government make sure student loan funding is only given to students attending colleges with high-quality programs. Various programs at the university are also accredited by various organizations. Groups that have accredited programs at Ottawa University include:

Ottawa University Application Requirements

Before applying to Ottawa University, students are encouraged to contact one of the school’s Enrollment Advisors to set up an advisory session. This will help   clarify things like admission requirements and whether the student’s intended program aligns with his or her future career goals. The admission process continues with:

Students can choose to send their application via regular mail or online. The university requires official transcripts from all high schools and colleges attended. It also requires  test scores from standardized tests. Students must have their transcripts and test scores sent directly to the university. For graduate students, additional admissions requirements include:
  • an admissions essay or personal statement
  • a resume
  • three letters of recommendation

Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition and fees for full-time tuition at Ottawa University come to $27,350 per year. Students who attend part-time pay a per-credit rate of $1,140 per credit. Any credits taken over 19 result in an overload tuition rate of $760. Students can also enroll in a single course each semester as an occasional tuition student for a rate of $570 or enroll in summer school for $570. Students should contact the school for the rates charged for the Master of Business Administration and the school’s other graduate degrees. Students who live on campus will pay a rate between $4,550 and $4,950 per semester.There’s also a parking fee of $250. Students can also live in a suite for between $3,000 and $6,250 per semester. Dining hall passes range between $1,200 and $2,915 a semester. The university recommends that applicants use the Ottawa University Family Financial Planner. The Planner will help the student figure out how to budget for college and how to get through the financial aid application process. Students should submit their FAFSA form by March 15 if they want to be eligible for financial aid and possible grants and scholarships. When the university has received all application materials, it will send an award letter to the student. Financial aid types available at the university include:
