Degree Programs Available at Palm Beach Atlantic University

Palm Beach Atlantic University appears in our ranking of the 30 Best Online Bachelor’s in Psychology Programs at Private Colleges. Palm Beach Atlantic University offers more than 130 majors and programs.  Nearly 70 majors are available for undergrads. Subjects range from accounting and art education to studio art and theater. It offers one of the only sports broadcasting undergraduate programs in the nation. It includes classes that teach students how to:

The university’s psychology program includes a traditional track and a track with online and evening classes. Other majors include:

Unlike other Christian colleges that do not offer programs for future licensed counselors, Palm Beach Atlantic University does. Students can earn a Master of Divinity with a graduate degree in clinical mental health too.

Palm Beach Atlantic University is a private interdenominational university. It’s affiliated with the Christian faith. It was established in 1968 by Jess C. Moody. It had a close relationship with the First Baptist Church, which was the home church of its founder. Better known as PBA, the university has a flagship campus in West Palm Beach, Florida. It has a satellite campus in Orlando. The distance education programs once offered through the mail are now available in the form of online programs and classes that PBA offers at night. PBA enrolls more than 2,000 students. Many of them take part in missionary trips every year.

Palm Beach Atlantic University Accreditation Details

PBA has accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for its nursing programs. Other accrediting agencies include:

As a regionally accredited university, PBA can give financial aid to students after it receives the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). That accreditation came from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Palm Beach Atlantic University Application Requirements

Students can apply to PBA as early as the summer after their junior year in high school. They can go online to find the university’s code. They’ll enter this on the SAT or ACT to have their scores sent to PBA. Those who want to view their scores first can request that the board send their information later. Students also need to submit a high school transcript and apply online. Through the university’s dual enrollment programs, students can take classes at PBA as long as they attend a partner Christian high school. The university allows them to earn up to 24 credits. To apply, high school students need to be in their junior or senior years and have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. PBA also requires that they maintain this GPA while attending the university. The university has different requirements for undergrads who want to take evening classes. They need to:

  • pay a $35 application fee
  • submit an official GED report or high school transcript
The university also requires that they take an on-campus writing assessment. Graduate students also need to apply with a $50 application fee. They will receive essay questions that they can write at home and submit to the university. Faculty members will interview students for each program and look over their letters of recommendation. Recommendations can come from:

  • former teachers
  • professional references

Tuition and Financial Aid

PBA undergrad  cost of attendance is $31,920 each year for tuition and fees. If they take more than 18 hours, they pay another $655 per credit hour as an overload fee. Part-time students pay $765 per credit hour when they take up to six credits. The price rises depending on how many credits they take and can reach $1,300 per credit hour. In the evening programs, undergrads pay $450 to $500 per credit hour. The university also charges rates of $570 to $825 per credit hour for graduate students. It’s $360 to $490 per credit hour in an undergraduate online program. The cost of attendance increases when students decide to live on campus. Dorm rooms start at $2,105 per semester. The cheapest meal plan that the university offers costs $1,425 each semester. It includes 100 meals. Prospective PBA students can use the FAFSA and get an award letter to see how much they will pay the university minus their financial aid. Students can get:
