Park University appears in our ranking of the 20 Best Online Bachelor’s in Computer Science. Park University’s program offerings are surprising for a school of its size. There are some unusual offerings as well as traditional majors. Most are offered online or in a traditional face-to-face classroom format. The Accounting program, for instance, has three offerings. Students can earn a BS in Accounting. This is a 66-credit-hour program in addition to university requisites and electives. It can be earned online or in the traditional format at several of Park’s locations. The BS in Management/Accounting is a 69-credit-hour program. It’s offered either online or in a face-to-face delivery at most Park campuses. There is also an Associate of Science Degree in Management/Accounting. It contains 33 hours and is available at all campuses. The Accounting, Minor program contains 18-to-21 hours and is available online. The BBA is a business degree containing 50-to-66 core hours that gives students a broad education in:
  • finance
  • management
  • marketing
It can be earned in six concentrations and also is available as a 4+1 program. This program allows students to earn both a BBA and an MBA in five years. The MBA program is available:
  • online
  • face-to-face
  • in a hybrid format
It has 10 concentrations and can be completed in as few as 15 months. Students can earn:
  • a BS or a minor in Biology
  • a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies
  • an Associate Degree
  • a Bachelor of Arts
  • a Bachelor of Science
  • a minor in Criminal Justice Management
There is a BS available in Fitness and Wellness that contains 120 credit-hours ( 53 core). It’s offered in a traditional format. The school also has a Fitness and Wellness minor which contains 19 credit-hours. It’s   presented online or on campus. Education degrees at Park University include:
  • a BSE in Early Childhood Education
  • A BSE in Elementary Education
  • A BSE in K-12 Education ( Art or Spanish)
  • a BSE in Mild/ Moderate Cross-Categorical Disabilities

Students can earn a minor or a graduate certification in Homeland Security. There is a BS in Human Resource Management as well as a certificate and a graduate certificate in the discipline. Degrees in Information Systems include the BS in Information and Computer Sciences. It contains 45-to-58 core credit-hours. It’s available online or on campus. The Bachelor of Science in Information Systems contains 120 credit-hours and is available both online and on campus. Students may earn an MS in Information Systems and Business Analytics. They can also or certificates in Computer Networking or Disaster and Emergency Management. There are many other degrees including the “V” in the list, the Minor in Visual Communication which is a 22-credit-hour program available online or on campus.

About Park University

Park University is a private four-year school in Parksville, Missouri. It was founded in 1875 and was originally affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. The school has 41 campuses in 22 states. Most of the locations are on military bases. Initially, the school was called Park College. The founders intended to give students free tuition if they worked half-days on the school farm, the electrical shop or the printing plant. The school has nearly 10,000 undergraduate students. Most classes have fewer than 20 students. Park University has more than 48 bachelor’s degree offerings. The student/faculty ratio is 15:1. The US News and World Report ranks this university as #128 -#165 of Regional Universities Midwest.

Park University Accreditation Details

The university is accredited by the North Central Association of the Higher Learning Commission. Other accrediting organizations include:

Park University Application Requirements

Students applying to Park University as freshmen should do so online. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee. Before proceeding with the application, students should decide:
  • which degree program they want to take
  • which delivery system they prefer
Applicants should have their high schools submit their official transcripts and for testing agencies to send official SAT or ACT scores to the school. Graduate students apply online. There is a non-refundable application fee of $50. Graduate students must submit official transcripts of all college work and any required tests. They must also have a background check. Other required documents such as letters of recommendation, resume, and essays vary by department.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Undergraduate tuition at Park University is $415 per-credit-hour at the Parkville campus. Tuition at the Gilbert campus and online is $399 per-credit-hour. Active-duty military personnel pay $250 per-credit-hour. Graduate tuition is $560 per-credit-hour. Military personnel pay $408. Room rates ( which apply only to the Parkville campus) range between $1,725 and $3,790 per semester. Meal plans range between $1,550 to $1,800. In addition to tuition, there are various fees. Students must also budget for books,  supplies and personal expenses. Earning a degree is expensive. Park University encourages all students to complete the FAFSA form. This is an application for a federal student aid program. It awards grants, loans and work-study opportunities to students based upon financial need. Missouri has some state grants like the Access Missouri Program that can help students pay for school. There are also grants for students from special populations such as veterans or Native Americans. Park University has scholarships based on financial need as well as scholastic performance. The school also awards grants and scholarships to students in specific programs or extracurricular activities. All these opportunities are listed on the school website. In addition, private individuals fund scholarships as do service organizations and clubs. Corporations often fund scholarships as well. These can be found through an Internet search for scholarships. Students who do not have enough grants or scholarships to meet their entire student obligation should consider:
  • taking out student loans
  • applying for a part-time job
  • applying for  a work-study opportunity
Credit cards should never be used to pay student debts at Park University or any college because of their high interest rates.
