It offers online and residential degree programs for students at several different levels. Students can earn an Associate of Arts, which will take two years to complete. The university also offers a liberal arts major. It functions as a general program for those who plan on transferring to a four-year college after completing an associate’s degree. Students earning a bachelor’s degree from Waldorf University can choose from nearly 20 different fields of study. A Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts is only available as a residential program. It teaches students how to look at theatre arts as an art form and gives them the chance to gain some stage experience. The university’s sports management is also available as a residential program. It looks at the management of both athletes and facilities. Students in this program have the option of doing internships in sports facilities. About Waldorf University

Waldorf University is a private university in Forest City, Iowa. Established in 1903, it opened as Waldorf College. Two hotels that opened in the city at the turn of the century fought over which would become the Forest City’s leading hotel. When one of the two closed, a local man thought that the property was a good location for a college. During its early years, Waldorf offered a curriculum with a focus on business classes and courses in other academic fields. It later became a training center for pastors and become affiliated with the Lutheran Church. Waldorf became a university in 2016 and now has an affiliation with Columbia Southern University. Though a large number of students still come from the Lutheran Church, the university welcomes others to apply and attend. Some of its students are pastors in that Church who want to further their studies and find new ways to help their parishioners. The university has an acceptance rate of nearly 51% and ranks as a highly selective school. That selective admissions policy helped Waldorf University maintain an enrollment rate of around 2,500 students.

Waldorf University Accreditation Details

Waldorf has accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCACS). The NCACS is the division of the HLC responsible for accrediting colleges and schools in the north central region. Waldorf can give students credit for the classes they took at other schools. It can also let them transfer the credits they earn at the university to a different school. HLC accreditation is also one of the reasons why Waldorf can offer financial aid packages.

Waldorf University Application Requirements

Undergrads who apply to Waldorf University must meet all admissions requirements. The basic requirements include a GPA of 2.0 or higher an ACT score of 18 or higher. Those who submit an SAT score must score at least 940 on that exam. Home-schooled students will need to submit transcripts that show they met the requirements for obtaining high school diplomas in their states. The university asks for transcripts from high school graduates and GED scores from those who did not finish high school. Any student who is under the age of 18 must submit a form that shows the applicant has his or her parent’s permission to apply to college. Online students applying to a bachelor’s program need to submit the Waldorf application and their transcripts. The university may allow those students to enroll without taking a standardized test such as the ACT but will require a minimum GPA of 2.0. Graduate students typically need a GPA of 2.5 or higher. If they have lower grades, they must request a review of their transcripts and applications. Waldorf will not accept any student into one of its graduate programs unless the applicant has a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited school.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Residential students pay $10,467 each semester for full-time enrollment and a comprehensive fee of $1,142 every year. Part-time students pay a comprehensive fee of $124 each year and a tuition rate of $295 per credit hour. If a part-time student takes more than 8.5 credit hours of class, he or she will pay a higher rate of $570 per credit hour for any credits taken up to the 11.5 mark. Those who take 12 or more credit hours will pay the full-time tuition rate. Online students pay the university $295 per credit hour for any undergraduate classes they take. They pay $375 per credit hour for any graduate classes they take. Waldorf offers different programs that reduce the costs that students pay every year. It has a tuition discount program for military students and veterans. Those students pay $300 per credit hour for undergrad classes and $390 per credit hour for graduate classes. The university’s book grant provides students with credits on their accounts that cover the cost of their textbooks. Another program allows students to borrow the books they need for the semester. They do not pay any fees unless they do not return their books. Traditional financial aid is available for students who use the FAFSA.
