Methodology
We reviewed approximately 60 accredited colleges and universities that offered online bachelor’s in English degree programs. We selected schools that had received rankings from major publications like Forbes magazine and U.S. News and World Report. Some of the schools on our list received regional and national rankings, while others earned recognition for having one of the best online bachelor’s programs in the country. We then chose the most affordable of these recognized institutions based on the in-state undergraduate tuition/fees listed by NCES College Navigator. Our #1 spot went to the most affordable program.
