1. NLN Foundation for Nursing Education Scholarship Awards

The National League for Nursing offers generous scholarship awards each year to students pursuing degrees in nursing education. The scholarship application calls for:

  • a budget narrative while you’re studying
  • several other documents for submission
The scholarship amount varies depending on available funds and student need.

2. Nurses Educational Funds Scholarship

The Nurses Educational Funds Scholarship awards funds for:
  • undergraduate studies
  • graduate studies
  • doctoral studies
It requires students to submit:
  • a personal essay
  • unofficial transcripts of their studies
  • proof of required grade point average
  • and several references

3. Nurses Float Scholarship

Created by Bare Root Inc., the Nurses Float Scholarship is awarded each year to a nursing student pursuing an ADN to BSN or BSN to MSN degree program. The award amount is five thousand dollars. All nursing students are encouraged to apply.

4. American Association of Colleges of Nursing Scholarships

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing offers a range of scholarships for nursing and nurse education majors. Most of them require the academic institution to be a member college or university of the AACN. Awards range from $2,500 to $5,000 dollars in most cases. Each has a variety of requirements. The AfterCollege/AACN Nursing Scholarship Program prioritizes nurse education majors. Application deadlines for each of the scholarship funds vary.

5. Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship Program

The Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship Program is designed for nurse education majors residing in New York state. It’s a fairly large scholarship that can cover up to $20,000  of tuition costs for nurse education majors. Applicants are required:
  • to be residents of New York State for at least one year prior to application
  • be a registered nurse licensed to practice in NYS
  • hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher, among several other requirements.
