About Fisher College

Founded in 1903, Fisher College was originally known as Winter Hill Business College, created by Myron C. and Edmund H. Fisher. The original focus of the school was to provide vocational education, prompting a name change in 1910 to the Fisher Business College. The original campus was located in Somerville, Massachusetts, but moved to its current Beacon Street location in 1939.

During the 1940s, the school was split into two separate colleges, the Fisher School for Men and the Fisher School for Women and remained that way until 1998 when the schools merged to become co-educational.

Today, Fisher College is a private, not-for-profit school of higher education with a vision to provide knowledge that brings about a life-changing experience. Programs are built around liberal arts but also provide the tools students need to succeed in their chosen field of study. Fisher College was named by US News & World Report as one of the best regional colleges in the north and was named one of the best colleges by Money as well.
