Granite State College is regionally accredited through the NECHE (New England Commission of Higher Education). NECHE used to be recognized as the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education through the New England Association of Schools/Colleges, Inc. It is one of just six regional accreditors that is recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation and the US Secretary of Education. Accreditation means that the college has met or exceeds criteria for institutional quality, which is granted on a peer-review process. Some programs have individual accreditation, as well. For example, the baccalaureate and master’s nursing degree program is also accredited by the CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education). The master’s in project management is accredited by the PMI GAC (PMI Global Accreditation Center). Regardless of the degree, applicants need to have a GED, high school diploma or homeschool equivalent. Those who’d like to apply can do so for free online. However, it is recommended that people talk to an advisor first to help with registration and course planning. Applicants must then request their transcripts from high school and other colleges. Then, they can apply for financial aid and pay tuition about 1.5 weeks before the term starts. Those who want to apply for a graduate degree can also fill out a free online application. They need to have a Bachelor’s degree, official transcripts of college work, and a statement showcasing professional aspirations/goals. A resume and professional/academic references are also required. Applicants who want to apply for a baccalaureate degree have similar requirements as a graduate degree. However, they must also pass the PRAXIS CORE test or be willing to take and pass the test before taking EDU 700.Tuition and Financial Aid
Once the student is granted admission to Granite State College, they must consider tuition costs and how they will pay for them. Tuition rates for the 2019-2020 year are $314 per credit for post-baccalaureate, undergraduate, and independent learning contract. Graduate rates are $538 per credit. Non-residents can expect to pay $365 for undergraduate, independent learning contracts, and post-baccalaureate degrees. Graduate degrees cost $590 per credit. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Options can include federal/state grants, scholarships/grants, student loans, and federal work-study opportunities.
