The University of Texas of the Permian Basin was founded in 1969 and is located in Odessa and Midland, Texas on 600 graceful acres of land. Life on campus is full of interesting and compelling sights and opportunities. Some highlights include the performing arts center, the library, and the Stonehenge replica. The University of Texas of the Permian Basin is home to one of the largest outdoor pools in West Texas. The Odessa campus has a perfect three-mile park that surrounds the grounds. The student body is made up of 36 American states, 185 Texan counties, and 45 international countries. Out of that group, more than half of the students are first-generation college-goers.
