Missouri Southern State University Application Requirements

Freshman applicants at Missouri Southern State University apply online at the university website. Students are eligible to apply if they have a minimum ACT score of 21 or a minimum SAT score of 1080. Students must have their official transcripts sent to the university’s admissions office. All applicants must pay a one-time, non-refundable $25 application fee. Applicants to one of the graduate programs at Missouri Southern State University must apply online. There are varying requirements for these applications that are based on the degree being pursued. For instance, the Master of Science in Management requires a personal goals statement and resume along with the application and undergraduate transcripts. Students must also have held a minimum 2.75 undergraduate GPA in order to be considered for admission. The Master of Science in Education requires the application and transcripts, but applicants must also provide three reference letters, a writing prompt, a video CV and a resume. Missouri Southern State University Distance Learning is the online campus. Students must complete the same application requirements as the traditional on-campus undergraduates. These applicants must also show that they have the technical requirements needed to be an online student. Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition at Missouri Southern State University is based on the number of credit hours in which a student is enrolled. The university considers 15 hours per semester to be full-time. The cost of full-time tuition is 3644.40 per semester or 242.96 per credit hour for Missouri residents. Out-of-state students must pay 485.92 per credit hour or 7288.80 per semester. These fees also apply to international students. Any student who prefers to take classes online will pay 295.88 per credit hour or 4438.20 for a 15 hour semester. Students can earn a variety of scholarships to help pay or their tuition at Missouri Southern State University. The Evans Fellowship is one of the most coveted awards. It is available only to students who are accepted into the Missouri Southern State University honors program and who score 31 or above on their ACT. The award covers up to 17 credit hours per semester and provides a $5600 stipend for on-campus housing. The Evans Scholarship is also offered to honors students. It covers the cost of tuition but does not include the housing stipend. Other scholarships at Missouri Southern State University range from $1000 to $7000 per year. These scholarships are a combination of merit-based and need-based. In order to qualify for need-based scholarships, applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.
